A 14-stage purification concept built around filtration, disinfection, and contaminant reduction.
Chemical-free treatment philosophy
Square1 Technologies designs treatment approaches that prioritize physical filtration, media-based reduction, oxidation or disinfection stages where appropriate, and polishing steps rather than routine chemical dosing. This approach can reduce handling complexity for certain applications and support a cleaner operational model.
Chemical-free does not mean maintenance-free. Filters, media, lamps, membranes, housings, sensors, seals, and other components may still require inspection and replacement. The correct maintenance interval depends on source water quality, total volume processed, pressure, flow rate, temperature, and the operating environment.
Target water quality concerns
System configurations may be used to support reduction of heavy metals, selected organic compounds, total suspended solids, turbidity, and microorganisms. Treatment goals should be confirmed with water testing and documented configuration. Some contaminants require specialized media or additional process stages.
Core treatment objectives
Pre-filtration: reduce larger suspended particles and protect downstream stages.
Media treatment: target specific contaminant groups through selected filtration media.
Disinfection support: address microbial concerns through configured disinfection stages.
Polishing: improve final clarity, taste, appearance, and system consistency.
Responsible performance language
Water treatment performance is highly dependent on source water composition and system operation. Square1 Technologies does not claim that one system configuration removes every contaminant under every condition. Instead, the company supports a responsible process: identify the water quality challenge, select the appropriate treatment architecture, install and operate correctly, maintain components, and verify results through testing.
Example 14-stage architecture
| Stage group | Purpose | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Intake and protection | Flow management, pressure stability, gross sediment protection | Helps stabilize the system and reduce stress on downstream components. |
| Sediment reduction | TSS and turbidity reduction | Filter selection depends on source water and target flow rate. |
| Contaminant-focused media | Heavy metals and selected organic compound reduction | Media must be matched to water chemistry and replaced when exhausted. |
| Disinfection pathway | Microorganism management support | May include UV or other configured disinfection technology depending on model. |
| Final polishing | Clarity, taste, odor, and final water quality refinement | Supports final user experience and downstream equipment protection. |
