Chemical-free treatment philosophy
Square1 Technologies designs treatment approaches that prioritize physical filtration, media-based reduction, oxidation and disinfection stages where appropriate, with polishing steps rather than routine chemical dosing. This approach will reduce handling complexity for certain applications and support a cleaner operational model.
Chemical-free does not mean maintenance-free. Filters, media, lamps, membranes, housings, sensors, seals, and other components may still require inspection and replacement. The correct maintenance interval depends on source water quality, total volume processed, pressure, flow rate, temperature, and the operating environment.
Target water quality concerns
System configurations may be used to support reduction of heavy metals, selected organic compounds, microorganism eradication, total suspended solids, and turbidity. Treatment goals must be confirmed with water testing and documented configuration. Some contaminants require specialized media or additional process stages.
Core treatment process
Pre-treatment: reduce larger suspended particles, protect downstream stages, and target specific contaminant groups through selected filtration media.
Treatment: molecular dissociation and Electro Water Separation, hydroxyl release, sediment collection, and microbiological removal and disinfection.
Post-treatment: disinfection, UV irradiation and sanitization (ultraviolet germicidal irradiation, UVGI), and degassing.
Finishing: redundant microbiological reduction to support safe drinking water even if a prior stage underperforms.
Polishing: taste and odor control and heavy metal reduction.
Closed storage: anaerobic storage of safe, sanitized drinking water to protect it prior to use.
Dispensing: multi-mode dispensing into clean vessels — PET bottles from 1 to 20 liters or sachet bags from 500 ml to 1 liter — with free-vend and pay-per-liter vending modes, each unit pre-paid and accounted for by the POS transaction processor.
Responsible performance language
Water treatment performance is highly dependent on source water composition and system operation. Square1 Technologies does not claim that one system configuration removes every contaminant under every condition. Instead, the company supports a responsible process: identify the water quality challenge, select the appropriate treatment architecture, install and operate correctly, maintain components, and verify results through testing.
